March 2010 President's message
To our members;
As we peer into the unknown future of 2010, we see glimmers of economic hope that may help us all in the coming months. I know that many of our members are maintaining the American virtue of hard work and self-reliance as well as they can, given reduced incomes and slow economy. We thank all of you for keeping the agreements you have made with the credit union and your fellow members.
These days, there are people who want to blame others for the problems we all face, and sometimes use the economic times as an excuse to walk away from obligations. We appreciate our members who, despite facing financial hardship, adjust their lifestyles and call us for help. We are often able to modify payments and terms so they can continue to maintain their debts and credit standing even while incomes are reduced.
If you are in difficulty, we are willing to help until the economy turns around. For those who have lost jobs, we recognize the pain caused to your family. We must all then appreciate our fellow members who bear the brunt of the losses along with the credit union.
Your credit union staff, too, has experienced downsizing of work force and reduction in pay and benefits. We are truly in this together and we want to work for solutions that will keep the credit union here, solvent and able to serve your financial needs well.
Here's to a better year ahead . . . and a restoration of our nation's collective integrity.
Sincerely,
Wayne Tew
President/CEO
